My new project! Suggestions?

Thanks for that thought! of course i should have said i know attractive comes after function and im thinking way down the line to incorporate unique ideas. this is going to be my hen house though, I already have a completely different building already set up as everything else I would need... this is for my hens specifically and nothing else.

I should have made it clearer also in the main thread that I am specifically looking for pics of a brick hen house that is remodeled and ideas on what everyone has done to personalize their coops. i am not by any means good with carpentry but my dad has been so kind to help me out and I know he knows what he's doing so I trust him to make it functionable, its my job to put in the details like nesting boxes, roosts, and my personal touches. its the personal touches part I was having difficulty with so thats why I asked for help here in the first place.

Thats some nice hens you don't by any chance like cochins do you!?!

When you do roof you should put a cupola that has vents you dont have good cross ventilation
if you look at the first picture, you see it does have a cupola and in person you can see it has vents, also there were 2 vents added later to two walls. is that enough ventilation or should I figure out a way to have more?

If you have cross ventilation that is good
As fancy as it is you could even put a fan up there and some lights
I agree to section inside you need storage for feed
Roosting pen and two other areas
Sometimes you will want to seperate some of them pecking etc

Its going to look amazing when its done! First you need to decide are you just going to keep one flock for eggs? Or are you also going to breed some pure chickens? If it was for me I would split it into 2 and put a split run at the back where those little slots are. Then on one side I would keep egg layers and on the other side I would keep lots of bantams for breeding. As someone else said first the roof cus you dont want to your work to get wet! Then I would put in wire all along where the windows are at the front and put shutters on the windows so you can have it dark or light and change how much ventilation there is. When you do your runs dig down and put wire about 4/5 foot below ground level to prevent predators, also make sure it has a roof for hawks etc.
