My new project! Suggestions?

. When you do your runs dig down and put wire about 4/5 foot below ground level to prevent predators, also make sure it has a roof for hawks etc.

Are you saying put wire 4 to 5 feet below ground? If you are you sure ain't digging in Georgia Red Clay. How deep are you actually talking about here? I have never heard anybody say four fifths of a foot deep, There isn't any way you could dig a trench 4 to 5 foot deep 50 ft long around here, you will have a tough time digging it 4 to 5 inches deep.

Hi all! We are done with our 3rd day of remodeling and if I do say so myself it looks really nice! If all goes as planned, we will be finishing up tomorrow and the girls can move in. I'm excited to share my pictures with you!
The next thing on the agenda is the roof, which is on the to-do list within the next two weeks and also the outdoor run.

Day 1

beginning of day 1

End of day 1

no pictures on day 2 because there was no camera man lol. But this is what we accomplished!

We had more thought processes going on this day than anything else. Because there is nothing like this anymore, we had to make things up as we went along! As you can see from this view, some of the mortor also needs fixing.

Day 3
inside view

It took longer than you would think to come up with a way to hang barn sashes to they would open!

all hung!

End of Day 3

So as you can see we got a lot of work done in 3 days! Still have a little bit left to do before the girls move in like finish the upper half of the dutch door you see, finish the other dutch door, and do the chicken doors for the outdoor run. I'm very happy with it. Now that it's been made functionable, my mom and I are detailing the girl's place out. We are going with a ginger bread house theme! But we are going to add some twists because we really want to include the colors robins egg blue and princess pink. I hope you like the idea as much as I do, it really seems to fit :)

Those 'bricks' are so cool. They're actually blocks aren't they...are they only glazed on the outside?

The ceiling looks pretty good. Wonder if there's sheathing on top of the those ceiling boards. Are you going to take the roof down to the boards?

Agrees with Liberty Nursery...great to see an old building restored!!
