My new roo is an escape artist.

Last night we brought home a beautiful new brown leghorn roo. Put him in the coop in his own cage and thought he'd be fine. This morning DH comes in and tells me he's on TOP of the cage instead of in it. I go out, figure out what he did and tie the whole cage with twine to make sure it doesn't open again. I open the door to give him water and he runs right past me. I try to put him in and he almost gets away from me!

He and I had a serious talk about bad chicken behavior.

Tonight when DS gets home I'm telling him the new roo's name is Houdini.

Houdini it is!
One of my rescue kitties earned this very name when he managed to get out of a closed cage the night I brought him home to foster him! (thankfully, as with your roo, I did retrieve him eventually...)
