Here is my new duck pond. Instead of pond liner I used a tarp that worked just fine. And also on the 2 and 3 pic, what breed are the ducks. Yeah, it looks a bit murky because the rocks are dirty but were buying a pump tomorrow. Here is my bio/chemfilter :https://www.youtube.com/watchv=PZ2yvPFPt0M&list=PLIRX7S7LebvNd88toapSwEeVhfzZyGLmr&index=4 It's not a finished product. It costed like 50$ with the pebbles. If you would like to build this pond, please reply and ill tell you what you need. Any tips and add-on ideas are extremely appreciated. Any feed back is also welcome. Sorry for poor pic quality.
I also included pics of my princesses.

A swimming pool filter will clear up that water well. You most likely will not have to run it continuously, but daily, to keep pool clean and trap mosquito larva. The gravel type filters do a fine job. Every so often you reverse flow the filter to dump the mung out on the landscape.
WISHING YOU BEST.

What kind of tarp did you use? I tried this twice with a tractor tire. Once with used poly plastic and once with concrete. Both leaked :(

dose the pond look deep enough? And can I use the filter in the link.

. As you see things evolve, maybe next year you will decide to create a larger one. I looked at the youtube filter in your link. Was not impressed. Yes it will work but by the time you purchase a pump, and those charcoal cartridges, and the other stuff. Not sure that you will be saving a lot. I found some filters. on line. Walmart. Ebay. and other pool supply places. The one I have is an older model and I didn't find exact match. It was for a small pool. Look at the following one so you can get an Idea. It comes with pump and all. Uses sand so you do not need to replace cartridges. ( they can get pricey )

This one is worth $115.00 INTEX 1200 GPH Krystal Clear Sand Pool Filter Pump Set 110-120 Volt | 28643EG

Here is another type.. Not sure of price.

These filters would be able to handle your larger pond in the future also.
Check with pool stores in your area, and see what they have on hand. Online often you can find for less. Another option is to see if you can find one someone is no longer using.

I JUST THOUGHT TO ADD THIS IDEA. Not sure of your yard layout, but you can have the filter next to your home and run hoses out to the pond. Above ground or buried.

Oh, dang it. I made it then looked at your idea. Well, it seems to be working fine. We saved money because we had charcoal pad and filter floss. And we bought the bath sponges from the dollar store. Would you like a pic of the pond now?
