I love love love this idea. Low maintenance is the way to go. I am tired of scrubbing nasty pooed in waterers every day. Mine are off the floor and they still manage to get poo mulch in it. If I put them any higher they won't be able to reach them, but could probably still get poo in them. But this waterer would solve the problem, now to deal with the freezing issue.

Don't you just love the nipple waterers! Great idea ChrystalGail-I've been meaning to concoct a bucket waterer with the nipples for my flock, but what I have works and I've been a bit lazy! lol Seeing this is new inspiration for me to get up off my butt and get busy. I love the nipples mainly for the cleanliness, I cannot stand seeing birds drink out of filthy waterers. Ugh! How can that possibly be healthy? Again, excellent job!!

Good Idea and job. I've not started mine yet but i've got a similar idea in mind. I'm going one step farther though. I'm going to put a commode fill valve in my bucket so it will be self filling. The outlet pipe will have to be higher up the bucket than yours. Your nipple idea will now be incorporated into my system to help keep clean. Thanks.
