what a great idea! I use water bottles for my indoor birds (a parrotlet, a lovebird, and a zebra finch family) and would never have it any other way. I didn't even think about chickens being able to drink out of something similar ..."DOH"

...now I'll have to incorporate something similar into my coop as I build it. Thank you so much for the wonderful idea!!!

I am SO impressed with your design! It will work here in Sacramento, CA too!

And my 6 chicks aren't even outside yet.... so I have time to make one of those contraptions. (I bought one nipple and was gonna do a gallon jug waterer... think I may still do that for the remainder of their stay in the bathroom "nursery".) But now I'll pick up 3 more and copy your design for the downstairs coop/tractor pen.
