My next question.......

I am going to try to put up two videos. This first one is of Audrey's chick, having a worm. It's sorta funny. The second is of our Marans pullets. I have saw questions about knowing the difference in males/females early on. We have had these birds a little over a month I believe, and there is a noticeable difference in their colors now.

She left the nest. There was a lot of commotion near her, and we waited to see if she would go back. It was interesting because when she came off the nest she was usually very quiet, but this time she started clucking so loudly the rooster joined in. So, we put the eggs in an incubator and hatched out 5.

I was pleased too!. Little miss and grace , my other Pbr have both taken to nest again. I promised Clyde, my husband, that I will start gathering their eggs after the hens have their spring hatch. I promise!

I have a question. We have two Bard rock hens brooding two nests in the same 4 x 8 coop. One, Grace, is due hatch the 5th of April. The other, Little Miss, is due hatch the 17th of April. The two hens are 4 nesting boxes apart. When Grace has her clutch hatching can it cause problems ? My bantam Audrey took a chick, not hers, and probably would have killed it, had my husband not moved fast enough. I have options on moving birds , but wanted to leave well enough alone . Surely chickens have shared barn space for eons.

You will find different opinions on this one. I always seperate mine into private cages or pens. But some people leave them. I think I would be most concerned with little miss leaving the next when Gracies hatch.

Ok, I will see watch them all closely. Fortunately I have this week off work. God watches over children, and the mentally challenged. I fall into either category quite regularly
