Hi Dora is doing great she and the leghorn are very good friends, none of the other girls bug her (she is in a 7x27 run) and there are just 6 pullets in the this run. She is up on the roost at night with everyone else. In fact I laugh, Dora goes to bed first and is the last one to get up in the morning, she is a growing girl. needs her rest.
I will try to get more pic of my leghorn as she grows, I LOVE her color, I don't know enough about "type" but I remember thinking that the angle of the pictures didn't not show her "body" style.
I had knee surgery 6 weeks ago, and need a replacement on the other, pic would have been better had I not been looking down at her. But I love watching her.
I think she is very pretty. She is pretty flighty. and I don't care about that, she may get better in time, she had been staying with a friend who I had split the order of chickens form Ideal in the spring. She came back when re regrouped some of our chickens, we had 2 feather plucking GLW that went out to a friends farm. And I figured since she would be a good friend for Dora and I was right!
The only thing I notice is that she is much "slighter" I mean dramatically than my other pullets. (who are all dual purpose breeds)
but I don't think she is done growing <G>
she is just 5 months old and I don't think ready to lay yet, she was slow to feather out, and slower to mature.
thanks!
