My Odd Little Flock

They’re smarter than the dog. So much smarter. I’m amazed. The lettuce bed is on the deck. They haven’t ventured up there in months, since they were little.
Earlier that day they watched as I picked a handful and chucked it down to them.
Fast-forward and they’re in the bed.
Lol! They are really smart. My goose was the smartest of all of the birds I've ever raised, with my poor guinea on the very bottom. Chickens are in the middle about. I would say ducks are slightly smarter than chickens from what I've seen, but not by much. The quailies aren't real bright. Lol
That's so funny. They have a taste for lettuce now, lol!

Yesterday the coop door blew open in the rain and wind. Salt escaped and then got locked out. Long story short, I found her drenched and sniffling. I took her inside, wrapped her in a soft scrap towel and set her in front of the fireplace.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Half the girls have stopped laying.
Only the Doms and Vanilla are laying.
But it’s enough.
Here are some pics from recent times:

The girls love the Manzinita huckleberries, out here at the beach house.
