My nine year old cries for a few days over a loss. That makes it hard for me because I love all animals, so I am sad for her and the loss of the animal. I am sorry about your chick.

It's not dumb to cry over losing a chick you have hatched....I'm so sorry it didn't make it...I lost one once from a hatch that was over a week old...she/he just had something going on inside that you can't see....

Don't give up and try again...keep a hatching journal...
