I bought a very small incubator that only holds 12 at a time. I just hatched my first and had 5 of the 12 hatch. So, 5 will be in the first pen. I have another 12 eggs going right now and will be building a second pen for them. I'm going to keep the production small. It's for meat only. Nothing like quail breast wrapped in bacon on the pit. That sounds delicious! I haven't eaten quail yet, but I'm told it's good. We just bought what I think is a pair of brown coturnix quail. So I'll need to build them a pen and hatch some eggs. Hmmm a small incubator might be a good idea. The one I use can't keep up with the termperature changes of my house (haven't turned on the a/c yet). Good luck with your new adventure.

This looks nicer than my garage.

I think it's worth it spending a bit more on a good incubator. When I used a Brinsea the temps stayed very stable, but on my most recent hatch it was all over the place with one of those styrofoam bators.

Well I put the final coat of paint on it. It's done for now. It's is expandable to 8 pens 4 on each side. This year I'm only going to keep 2 going.
