My own predator,,,I'm heartbroken

It is possible that your bird was dead before your dog started to chew on the body. The same thing is possible with cats too.
 
I remember losing my first hen that way and crying my eyes out. My two german shepherds.....mmmmm, wasn't the last one either needless to say.
