My Peachicks Of 2013 **Will Have Lots Of Pics**

I just set 13 peahen eggs last night... my first ones, I drove 4 hours one way to get them and they are all (but one) fresh laid from yeasterday as well... we drove around to the different pens and he collected the eggs right then... as he had just filled a huge order the day before... luckly me!

I'll join in, about to set 7 more right now!

OK chick 6 hatched today. It is out of the Purple BS hen and this hen was only with Cupid for a few days so the father might be Eros still because the hen can "hold" sperm for up to 14 days. I did not take a picture of her because she got hit with the fan on the back of the head and neck area and it was MY FAULT! I dropped the lid down as I was removing the little thing. The fan got her and cut my hand too. So she is in my hatcher healing and will add her picture here in a few days. She/he looks white like the others but we shall see what color these little ones turn into

Ok here's the little guy. For cutting it's head, it sure is alert

Did you set them all at the same time? Do you usually have them hatching spread out like this? I am due to lockdown my eggs tomorrow, hope is can join you with good a good hatch and pics :)

I perfer to have a few hatch at the same time at first then I place the eggs in one or two at a time so everyday to every other day is a hatch. I enjoy hatching them this way. Keeps the excitment constant during hatching season. If I put them in all at once then filled the incubator the second time it would be boring for 28 days LMAO!

I look forward to coming home and finding another chick in the incubator

Do you keep your humidity the same vs increasing in a lockdown?? What do you run your humidity at?

I do not do lockdown and my hunidity is the same from start to finish. I removed one of the egg trays inside the incubator and when the egg pips I remove it from the tray and put it on the floor of my incubator where the missing egg tray is. Once it hatches I move the chick into the brooder. This is one reason why my chicks hatch every other day and not all at the same time. My hunidity is done with 2 devices. One is a digital thermometer with hunidity guage it reads 48% and then I have a round hunidity guage I got from Petco for reptiles and it says 60%. If you click onto my name then click "threads started" you can find my thread "I showed you mine now show me yours" and you can see how my incubator is set up.
