I know you are still working on your coop, I hope you have checked out some of the great coop designs on here. That is how I originally found BYC years ago, I was trying to figure out how to make a coop from materials we had here, and every time I googled a question, I ended up finding an answer here!

It is also a great place to research things like when to put your chicks outside, what to feed and convenient feeders and watering systems and when to expect your first eggs. I'm dying to hear what color eggs you get from your ameraucanas. Did you check out the thread comparing them to Araucanas and EEs? Very interesting! I found out my birds I bought as Ameraucanas are actually EEs (Easter Eggers). Did you get your chicks at Wilco?

I also love it that when you have an issue or problem, you can usually find the answer on a thread here, or if not, you can ask the question and get an answer within a few hours, or sometimes many answers!

But you have to watch out...............this place is full of chicken enablers......................

We have barely begun to get you started.....build the coop big....

I also agree with savingdogs-build your coop 3 times the size you think you will need it-that way it will be a little longer before you have to build another!
