It started last week I had a duck that could not walk and had a white beak. I put that one in the basement. I started giving it a vitamin supplement you put in the water. I also started to give the other ducks and chicken it. I checked on the ducks today and found one that had passed away. Now I have one more duck with a white beak. I was wondering if anyone knew what it could be or if I
Should do anything different?

They seem to be walking fine I’m feeding them later feed I have them living with chickens and o started giving them the vitamin and electrolytes. The one I have in the basement can’t use the legs at all. They seem to be running around the coop fine. They have a little pool In the coop for them

Is there swelling redness heat in the legs that can’t walk? Can she use her legs for swimming?

They were a week old when I got them at the end of March. The one in the basement can’t use it’s legs at all it just uses it beak and pulls it self around. There’s no redness or swelling in the legs. I’m not sure of any vets in the area that see ducks

Have you been feeding them layer since you got them? Layer has too much calcium in it for ducklings. If you want a great all round feed get an all flock it can be fed to all poultry and also has the right amount of niacin for water fowl an Pekins are especially prone to lameness because they grow so fast. They need adequate amounts of niacin in their diets and layer is giving adequate amounts of calcium because it’s for layers. Until @casportpony replies I would stop with the layer and go get something like Purina Flock Raiser or another all flock picture on the bag should have ducks and other poultry on it put oyster shell out for your layers they will use it as needed. Then pick up a bottle of liquid B Complex in the cattle dept (TSC) or feed stores that carry things for cattle. It will say injectable but just peel off the foil and use a 1 ml dropper or syringe and start giving your duck 1ml a day over peas or mealworm or chopped tomatoes something it really likes so it will get full dose. This stuff is like a miracle if your duckling is suffering from a deficiency. This is what to look for.

I’d also be giving your other Pekins Nutritional yeast over their feed or give them the liquid b complex. You might also try feeding your sick Pekin some scrambled eggs I had two Runner ducks sick from shipping and scrambled eggs really got them back on their feet.

This is the duck with the white beak I’m taking them both to the vet next week Saturday
