I can't agree that it is snippy or hateful at all, it was written by someone trying to be nice and complimentary - amazing how different people can read the same thing.

It is strange how different people read it different.

Of course, I had a bad experience with MPC which could be a part of how I read it, too.

Yes, they were sugary sweet over the phone, but it seemed fake after months of refusal to make the matter right.

That doesn't sound snippy and hateful at all to me. But I've talked to them on the phone before so maybe that's why I am reading this differently. You know the tone of voice makes a huge difference in how this message would be perceived.
When I talked to them they have been so super nice and forthcoming and friendly that I took that message to be an inventive and 'trying to be humorous' way of telling her her options.

That's so true, Karin! One problem with reading something is that it's not the same as speaking to someone and hearing his or her voice. With a voice, you could tell if a message was being delivered with humor or sarcasm. We so often hear of people who get upset after receiving an email that didn't come across the way that the author had intended.

That sounds exactly like my experience with them as well!

BTW, does anyone know if they even have their own birds or are they dropped shipped from elsewhere?

Even though the Internet can facilitate problems with communication, it can also help people connect in a way which was never before possible. Hopefully, Gatekeeper can help you with your babies.

I ordered the same one's from MPC I ordered 25 new chicks and they contacted me also and told me the same one were BO but I told them to ship them in May they gave me a date of May 9th which was only 2 after the week I requested. I feel MPC did try to keep there customers in mind and keep us happy they also gave me the option to pick another date that would work for me. I would call them I bet it won't be to long of a wait from the date you wanted your chicks as long as you give them an answer right away remember they had more people look for those breeds than just you and I so they also must change their dates I would call right away to get a new date. They are great to work with they will do there best to make you happy with them.
Good Luck

The hole point is that I placed the order 2 months ago. It seems that they should have known way before now that they would not have them. I have no options here in Montana as there are no breeders. I will just have to do without those breeds or order elsewhere I guess. I do have a incubator so I may look for eggs except when I hatch I have the issue of rehoming roos as I can't have them.
I really believe that they could have notified me sooner. They can sound as sweet as can be but that doesn't change the fact that they took this long to notify me.

I sorry to hear they are doing that, I checked the site and I understand what is wrong but I cannot get mad over this because, my chicks came today.
