My Pet Chicken hatchery (MPC)

I ordered from MPC and got some great Frizzle Cochins, all have been healthy for years. But the Silkies did not do well.

However, I always like to order from Meyer! ALL my chickens from them have been awesome. I have had numerous problems with other hatcheries and have ordered from quite a few. I have ordered from Meyer 4 times with great results each time.

We have had good luck with MPC and if you need a small number of chicks or all hens or a particular breed I would certainly recommend them.

The first year we ordered 9 chickens, a mix of breeds. 12 arrived in the box. I had added on 3 EE's and there was confusion in the office and I got 3 extra for free. All were healthy and happy. They arrived in a box with green stuff to eat and a heat pad. Two of the silkies were roosters but typical silkies we could not tell until it was too late to get a refund on the roos. I was given a credit for 2 chickens to use the following year.

The next year I ordered 8 chickens. They arrived with just a heating pad, no green stuff. 7 of the chicks thrived and are now laying eggs. One was not right from day one and eventually died.

They sound like a pretty good hatchery, but now I am thinking I might buy hatching eggs from BYC members instead.
