my pet chicken reviews

@littlerae11 , Try not to worry too much. I went through the same thing in October with my first batch of chicks and by this time that Tuesday I was near frantic! Our tracking number hadn't updated since the chicks departed Ohio, the people at our local distribution center didn't have any more information than I did and I'll be honest, I was in tears. I recommend calling the destination USPS distribution center and get hold of a supervisor. Ours was willing to take my name and number and I left word to call me any time of the day or night ... and they did!! The minute they came in at 4am Wednesday they called me, told me the secret back door to locate and I picked them up. Meanwhile, it wasn't until several HOURS later that I got an email from USPS saying "delivered" with all the missing stops along the way. The heating elements and packaging My Pet Chicken uses are great. They were snug and cozy though there were only 10 in there. The second batch, by the way, which got here this morning- unfortunately I didn't get a shipping notification so this morning I did the chat thing with MPC to find out they'd been sent yesterday and got the tracking #... and the post office called 10 minutes later-- so one time it took 2 nights and the other time they showed up at 10am Tuesday. Hang in there! Soon your brooder will look like this:
Thanks for the encouragement.. I wish I had told them to call me day or night! I'd totally go at like 4am if I had to! But I just told them to call me as soon as they get there.. So hopefully in the morning I will get a call.. I'm just so sad because I was so excited to pick them up and then they weren't mine! :( sadness... But hopefully they will be here tomorrow and all be doing ok.

I can't imagine the letdown of showing up for your chicks and having them not be yours.

The inner workings of the post office remain a mystery to all! Looking back, both orders shipped around 4:30-5pm on a Monday, left Ohio around 9pm, but the first one took almost 24hrs to get from Ohio to our main facility and the other got there in 9hrs.

I hope everyone arrives safe and fluffy!

That is so strange! Doesn't make any sense! But there's a reason for it I suppose. Still haven't heard from them yet. Might call again this morning and pester them some more haha..

Got my 6 chicks! Three seem to be doing well. The 2 blues and a white. The buff is a little weak but hanging in there. And two little white ones are really not doing well. I'm giving them all water with electrolytes through a syringe and making up a scrambled egg and cottage cheese mix to try feeding. Any other advice??

Congrats! I'm so sorry the Post Office mis-led you. :(

Try giving them a little honey or sugar in their water to give them a boost until they are recovered from their journey.

Thank you Alex!! I'm working hard to help them! So far I got 5 out of 6 eating little bits of food and the last one is still pretty weak. I thought she was dead upon arrival, but she's hanging in there! Starting to hold her head up and take water through the syringe. Thanks for the advice! I'll add sugar. :)

I always add a teaspoon per quart of brown sugar to my waterer for the first week to help give them quick energy, some that are sluggish will suffer from low blood sugars and will seem confused.

Thank you! I've still got two that don't seem to be interested in eating in their own yet, but I'm giving them water with sugar and electrolytes regularly and they are standing on their own and peeping now, so hopefully they will come back around and decide to try pecking at some food soon
