my pet chicken reviews

Well here they are, all 25 are doing well, the 6 little bantam were so relieved to get out, they all drank lots of water and are working on eating. The large breeds are all energetic and quite fluffy. Thank you My Pet Chicken.

Soooooooooooooooooooo glad all your babies arrived safely!!!!

This morning two of my d'uccle chicks aren't looking so good, they were probably the ones who were desperately drinking. I moved the bantams to under a broody. When a checked a half hour later one was upside down under her. I guess we shall see, all the rest are doing fine. I am surprised to see how panicky the shipped chicks are compared to the hatch ones who are more mellow. I might choose hatching in the future, but it depends on how well I deal with the butchering of extra roosters, which always bothers me, I wish I could be more practical.

Shipped (hatchery) chicks are far more "hyper" and more difficult to tame down than hatched. Found that out when I shoved some of my neighbor's eggs under one of my broodies once.

They are a little nutty, the hatched ones just look at me, the shipped ones run in terror around the brooder. I spent some time getting them used to my voice at least today.

Well this morning one d'uccle was dead, another is dying. I'm a bit bummed, guess it was too much for them. I contacted My Pet Chicken through the messaging and they have given me credit for both of them. They tried to refund my money but I said I wanted a credit, I might need a few more hatching eggs next year. Thank you My Pet Chicken for a quick response.

Thankfully all the rest are okay, though I had trouble finding one of the bantam cochins this morning, I looked and looked, and finally I picked the broody up high and it was stuck to her feathers, I shook it loose and it ran to eat and drink. So that was weird.

Awww that sucks about the D'Uccles. And that "shook it loose" from the broody was so funny!
