My Pet Chicken- yes or no?

I have a small flock of hens in my city home, and was wanting to get a new batch spring 2013. I only want five new chicks- a blue silkie, easter egger, australorp, welsummer, and barred rock. The only place I could get such a variety of hens is at a hatchery, and since I only want five of them, my only option is My Pet Chicken (the Meyer hatchery). I was wondering if this is a good hatchery to get these chicks, and if I do get these chicks, should I get two of each chick, just in case some don't make it?

I ordered 6 chicks from My Pet Chicken and they arrived on 5/2/12. They arrived healthy, active, alert and have remained so. This is my first flock but am enjoying the experience so much that I am already thinking of ordering more next Spring!

I second that recommendation. Got my chicks On 6/12. They arrived happy and healthy. No problems so far. They are curious and active. Delightful!

I usually do to, but it would be hard to get all these breeds from just one breeder :/

Or... stay on the Nevada thread a bit longer and get to know us other Reno peoples, make a few friends, then when someone puts in a chick order, you can share in the order! Easiest way EVER to get just a few chicks that you want.

Got my chicks from Meyer Hatchery this week and they were all healthy and happy.
