Thank you so much for the pic. I love it. We just had our Westie of almost 12 years die, so I am looking for a new dog. Are they good with kids and chickens, do you know? I love terriers, they have a spunk unlike any other dog. And your Maxwell looks just that...spunky.

Kycklingmamma,

Yes, it can be hard to find things for free sometimes, but if you wait and be patient eventually something will turn up. Also, free items go very quickly. I have been lurking craigslist and freecycle for weeks. I responded to this ad within minutes of it being posted and still...it was given away 4 times before I got my chance at it. 4 other people showed up to take it away but they weren't set up for hauling something of this size. We showed up with truck, trailer, and a few helping hands. Also, when you're looking, be sure to look in other areas that you may have to drive to if you don't mind driving. This one was about an hour and half away from my home.

freecycle is another good place to place wanted items and locating items. Most towns have their own site (the major cities do). Freecycle is in your yahoo groups. If you're not already familiar with it check it out. You'd also be surprised at what all you can find at your local transfer stations (dumps). Many many many construction crews dump off their excess materials and "scraps" at the transfer stations.

We had to go to our local station yesterday. We saw tons of window frames and a whole huge stack of pallets that I eye-balled. Unfortunately they were quite a ways towards the back. More work than I was willing to dig through so I left them. But man did I hate seeing all that good stuff go to waste.
