As promised in my introduction, here is the start of my photo thread :D Y'all are going to beg me to take a break from photographing chickens and ducks real soon LOL

Up first is my "Blue Pen." Posting these photos makes my breath catch in my throat, as I tragically lost the roo on October 5th :( He was my absolute favourite bird. Ugh, guys. It hurts my heart...

Whew, that's all for now! I have... 9 - I think? -bantams to band and photograph tomorrow, and I will add them then! :D

Oh shoot, I forgot about the Frizzle bantams... Make that 13 to photograph and band tomorrow :lau One Gold Sebright, two unknown gold and black birds, four Frizzles, and a half dozen stag Sebright/Japanese/Cochin/Old English crosses!

Edited to add: While I am at it, I can tell their stories a bit too I suppose!

The "Blue Pen" (minus the Silkies) and the Icelandic hens are from a local breeder who sadly retired a few months ago after a decade or so of breeding!

PB and the Silkies are from a good friend of mine. She took in the flock of Silkies owned by an elderly rancher I worked for, and these are descedents of those birds ❤

Ellis the big roo came free with some meat rabbits I purchased. I was told, before I got gim, that he was a Light Brahma. Yeahhhh... no lol. But he is a GOOD BOY. He takes amazing care of his ladies and is very cordial with us... We are very lucky to have him!

My two rescued roos, if you missed their ID post, are rescues that someone dumped at a dog park type area.

My little Bluebirds, the EE and RIR pullets are (I am ashamed to say) TSC birds. I have zero self-control and employees who give me discounts are really making it even harder haha I am looking forward to doing some fun Bantam crosses with the OEGBs, and we are hoping to create a flock of good layers with the RIR and EE girls!

My two gorgeous, soft white Frizzles :love
Also clearly exhibiting the difference between a pullet and a cockerel! I'm thinking their names are going to be "Pastel" and "Pascal"

Head of the Silkie pen, "Panic Button"
(I know with that comb, he is a cross. But goodness, isn't he handsome?!)

What beautiful little dinosaurs! They are a very pretty flock. I love those roosters. They both have very serious faces.
