My polish pullet, Oddball, has an over-grown beak and I’m wondering if/how I should fix it.

Hi! I beileve you trim it with clippers, you only do a little at a time, inching it forward, i hope this helps! I recommend trimming his beak a tiny tiny bit at least once a month, that way it doesnt overgrow

Ok! Thanks for the help! Also: his? Not making fun of you just making sure😁

Trimming a very overgrown beak should be done gradually, since you caput into the quick and cause bleeding. For mildly overgrown beaks, use a file or Dremel. Dog nail clippers can be used to trim slightly every couple of weeks until it is more normal. A vet may be best to trim a severely overgrown beak. Have bloodstop powder or styptic pencil available to help stop bleeding. It can help to have a large stone in the run for them to rub their beaks on to keep them filed.
