My Polish Pullet falls asleep ALOT. Like on the ramp to the coop...

My wcbp roo does the same thing. Fall asleep at the drop of a hat! He's 5 months old and I first noticed it about 4 weeks ago.

That's interesting! I wonder if they have something internally wrong, like a weak heart or something. Please keep us posted. I'd watch them closely, though doubting theres anything you can do about it.

Perhaps they need their morning cup of coffee???

I think they just like to nap... they feel safe, loved and cared for, no reason to be worried... so they nap. Mine is so spoiled... her favorit place to nap is on the back of a chair in our sun room.

We have several 2 yo Gold laced Polish hens, one of them has always been narcoleptic. We named her Forest after Forest Gump as she ran so funny as a chick. She falls asleep half way across the garden on her way to eat, half way up the ramp to her house and she cannot perch as she falls off! She is the sweetest natured girl, lays as many eggs as the others and is as healthy as they are. I think it must be something neurological rather than a latent illness as she is over 2 and still going strong
