That is an amazing story! It sounds like you have met your guardian angel that lives in a chicken body! Your son also acted brave and mature, and his great thinking saved your life too. I can't imagine how scary that must be and I'm glad you've recovered. I'm really perplexed on what on earth could have triggered that kind of reaction, especially in the midst of winter when there aren't many bugs! Thank you for sharing your story with us, it proves what I already knew. Animals are incredible when you treat them as they deserve.

What a fabulous story!! I'm so glad that you're okay...that could have really been a tragedy. Yes, treat that roo like Prince Philip!!

Beautiful boy! I'm with the folks that suggest taking this to the news; Chickens, especially roosters get a bad rap for being noisy and dirty and "stupid" I think if the public saw more stories like this they would change their opinion. If a chicken is dirty, it's the owner's fault, not the bird, and i think birds definitly have intellegence! And feelings! mine get hugs daily, and are upset if they think they're gonna get "missed" Made a saddle/coat yesterday to try out, and you should have seen the fight over who got to wear it!

While i was putting it on one, my other was trying to leap on and peck her for getting it, then i took it off her (pouted) and put it on my roo, who touched it gently, stuck out his chest and pranced around, while letting the girls "touch" it.... you'd have thought it was a royal robe!

Yup, i think they get a bad rap. You could be the "chicken ambassador" for the up!

what HEROs!!!!!!!!!!! both the son and your roo. that is just awesome. It amazes me how much our animals really understand about us. These things are the ones that prove it. I am so sorry to hear what happened to you, but glad that you are ok. Gives both those 'boys' a great big hug and thanks. I am sure treats are a plenty right now for both of them. who gets what????
