My poor feather baby!

I just got 5 new sea brights...one of which is a feather-footed rooster! Well ive had them cooped since i got them about a week ago! Today i left the coop door cracked and him and another rooster decided to venture out! Of course they started fighting! I tried to separate em but then just decided to let em work it out...i went in the coop to refill the water container and all hell broke loose! I came running out and the dog had boots! He's a stupid dog on a chain that is completely untrainable! My other dog is great with the chickens...only got after them once and has since learned they r off limits! Ive tried for over a yr now to find this other dog another home with no luck! I think my rooster will be ok! He's been inside in my lap since it happened! My good dog tried to sniff him and he pecked his nose...lol!

What kind of dog? If your roo isn't wounded, just give him some electrolytes and keep him warm and safe. I don't think it is okay to simply give away an animal instead of trying to train it. Why was it on a chain? It sounds like you are not taking responsibility for an animal you promised a home and good life. A dog is much more valuable than something to simply give away after you are done with it. What kind of dog is it? I may have some training tips if you are willing to put in the time.

He's a large breed mutt! He's actually my good dogs son! My dog mated with my neighbors dog & he is one from the litter that i kinda got stuck with! His name is poncho! When he was a puppy, he got scratched on the forhead by his mother! The wound healed over but a mass of infection swelled up under the skin which created a huge lump on his head! The neighbor who had the puppies had just gotten a chunk of her leg removed from MRSA and they aren't very clean ppl! They had the puppies in a plastic kennel with no bedding at all...stuffed in there with their mom crawling around in their own waste! My son took the puppy and i lanced and drained the wound several times a day, kept it clean, etc until it healed! He's not a bad dog just not right for us! He won't stop trying to kill my chickens & him and his dad fight when he is loose! He's on a runner & gets plenty of attention! He's being taken care of but the intention from the beginning was to find him a good home! I think he mightve sustained some frontal lobe damage because i can't teach him anything! His dad is super smart! I have trained him to do all kinds of things! He only got one of my roosters once...didnt hurt it...just brought it to me and when I told him to drop it, he did! He hasn't chased any of them since then! Ive tried everything with poncho tho and he doesn't listen...i couldn't even get him to let go of the chicken today! I had to hold him up in the air by his collar until he tried to get a better grip and dropped him then fought to hold him while the rooster ran out of his reach...he kills anything that moves other than dogs (squirrels, rats, mice, rabbits, cats & if i wasnt there to stop him my chickens)! He's great with kids tho and would make a good pet to someone who didnt have any other animals! I think the rooster will be ok tho! He's actually sleeping in my sons room tonight cuddling! The only place i saw blood was on his comb but the dog was chomping his body so i was worried about internal damage! He finally ate and he's been drinking water and i got him to eat a couple of pieces of tomato earlier too! Theres no blood in his stool and he can spread his wings and flap em and he was standing on his feet and walking some around bedtime! In fact, my son had him a little spot made on the corner of the bed where he was resting and he got up, stretched his wings out and walked over to my son and laid down in his arms! These chickens get so spoiled when they r hurt, i keep waiting for them to pretend to be hurt to come inside! Lol!
