My pride and joy bantam silkie splash rooster went missing yesterday. he was a gently soul and after much thought I am letting his broody girlfriend sit on some eggs to keep a part of him. Hopefully she will hatch some. I miss him dearly. He was my favorite

- sometimes they get stuck somewhere or indeed get in harm's way but get away and may be injured needing rescue. It's so hard not knowing.

Once my roo got attacked by a fox - my neighhbors said they thought he must be dead. I searched and searched and called for him and eventually I heard a faint response from deep within a dense holly tree. He was alive! And in major need of help. It took me 90 minutes to coax him out from way back in the deep dense foliage (I couldn't see him but I could hear him) and then I carried him in my arms back to his house and over time nursed him back to full health. I'm not sure he would have made it if I didn't find him as quickly as I did.

Sending good wishes

thank you for the hope.
Strange thing is my 3 hens out with him came to back door last night and they never do that. I hope he is alive but after 24 hours I am losing hope. I had my neighbors listening for him to crow this am with no luck.
