My Pullet Clawed My Face!

I have a turken pullet named Padma Lakshmi. Yesterday I was feeding the flock, and she flew right at me and clawed up my face. What is with that?

Anyone know why a pullet would suddenly claw someone in the face?

Not a clue but sometimes i think the real Padma would do that to a chef.

Yeah, my husband and I decided we'd like our Padma to be both the host, and the main course, in an upcoming episode of Top Chef.

Don't they look alike?

It's frightening!

Was she maybe trying to roost on your head, and missed?

I had a chicken peck me in the eye once, but she was still young then and has since matured into a nice staid middle aged lady.

I wouldn't eat her yet, unless she keeps doing it!

The pullet was trying to flog you. It is a defensive attack. Something you did, some movement, some noise, something set her off and made her feel threatened.

She probably just wanted me to get out of there so she could get back to eating her crumbles in peace.

Hey, maybe she was trying to roost on my head. The roost they had in there fell down and I didn't fix it yet. She figures I'll do until then.
