My oldest DD who is 24 just got bit by the chicken bug, She got 3 bantams at tractor supply they are cochins. She keeps calling the cockerels

I said if they then they are dinner. She is learning but it is funny..She picked on my for almost 2 years when I showed her new breeds I wanted she would roll her eyes at me and call me the crazy chicken lady. Well guess who has a list of chickens she wants now. Yep she also joined BYC

Whenever we see the "lump" posts, it's probable a lot of us smile a little (in a kindly way never fear, we've all been there) and go make sure someone's answered. This is such a common question because it really IS alarming if you've never seen it.

I'm really happy that there's such a bunch of good people here who make this a safe place to ask practically anything. The only foolish question is the one never asked. Oh yeah, it IS answered on the FAQ page, but that's not always easy to remember in the moment you are confronted with something new. Enjoy those piggy/chickens you have! (piggens?)

My husband already calls me the crazy chicken lady. lmao! I sit on my patio all day long and just watch them. I think they are wonderful! My mother hates chickens, thinks they are filthy stinky creatures. Guess she won't be coming for a visit any time soon.
