So, get a whole bunch of different people breeding and showing your white EEs consistently over a couple of generations (males, females, young, and old), come up with a breed name and a description and apply to the APA for SOP acceptance. At that point there is at least some "true" breeding being demonstrated. It's a start. A whole bunch of generations down the road you might start getting to the point where you don't end up with unhappy customers because their eggs hatched out birds that lay the wrong coloured eggs or have weird combs or incorrect leg colour, or, heaven forbid, feather leakage.

All species have anomalies. It happens. Responsible breeders simply "fix" or cull that one that doesn't fit their particular breed description (don't use it in future breeding programs) and move on. Chickens are no different.

Yes, I agree fully. With this particular hen, we will be excluding her from our breeding program and sending her to a farm to be an egg layer.

I agree. EMaker, if you think that strongly that you white EEs should be a breed, then get a bunch of friends to take some chicks, raise them up, breed a few generations, find a name the suites them, make a description for them, and apply for the APA to accept them as a breed.

Ahhh yes. I agree. But it looks as though she is calling you a big meanie (inferred from "very rude"...etc.) LOL. So i will bow out as well.

That was also extremely rude and not acceptable for this thread that was made for people who were interested in my hen, not for those who want to criticize and argue.

That was incredibly rude and i will have to ask you not to post anything else on this thread. I am a very knowledgeably young lady. I do a lot of research, along with my mom and dad. We are good friends with several judges and top breeders and I was been recently told by a judge that our Ameraucana roo is one of the best specimens of the breed he has seen in a long time.

Sometimes weird stuff happens. Sounds like your lovely lady is unfortunately carrying a gene that causes her to lay an egg that disqualifies her as an "SOP Ameraucana". It's VERY disappointing but it happens. Make note of who you purchased the egg/chicken from (maybe you'll want to try someone else in the future) and let them know so they can be aware of what occured.

Sounds like you have a LOVELY Ameraucana roo so hopefully that means you have something to work with that means there will be LOADS of blue egg laying Ameraucanas in your future!!!!

You seem to be having the same issues with your eggs as you did with the leg color of the supposed purebreds. My guess is they are EE's you are having too many issues that lead to the fact that they are not pure bred ameraucanas but just run of the mill EE's. Maybe you could go back to where you got them and look at the flock and ask a few more questions, I think that may clear up what you think you have.

Attention Folks: Sorry to disappoint you but these chickens she is referring to are Show Quality Ameraucana Chickens. They are NOT EE Chickens!!!!! She has done a lot of research on this breed. Yes Ameraucana is a breed in America and is recognized by the American Poultry Association and is in the American Standard of Perfection. EE is not a breed that is recognized by the American Poultry Association.
If you research genetics of Ameraucanas you would know that she is telling the truth and is not making up things about the Ameraucana chicken breed.
The breed she has is Blue Wheaten and Wheaten. The leg color issue she is referring to is on these two varieties. It is not uncommon to have a leg color that is whitish to grayish looking. It is difficult in breeding to get the slate in these two varieties. She has had the color on specific birds but as they mature the leg color lightens and as they go through an intense breeding season the leg color lightens. One of her Rooster's leg color before breeding season was slate and during breeding season his leg color faded to nearly white resembling light gray. Once he was removed from the hens, his leg color returned to slate. The issue on leg color was never with a green leg which is a leg color you often see on EE.
Now, if you notice on EE's their leg color is not white or light gray: correct right. So the issue is not whether her birds are Ameraucana or EE. The issue is what in genetics is causing the egg to be a pink color.
We have spoken with several well known long time Ameraucana breeders who have experienced the pink egg gene or know other breeders who have and that is what it is a pink egg gene not a EE chicken.
Please be careful what you say on here and how you are so quick to make comments about other peoples chickens. Unless you know the facts about their specific chickens please do not make assumptions about the breed that is state that the chickens are.
It is a fact in breeding that when you have an Ameraucana chicken that has a recessive PINK egg gene that when you breed a hen and rooster that both carry that gene then you will get PINK eggs. Neither of these parents should be bred and that will stop the pink egg gene in the bloodline that she has. She knows that. She is simply searching for others who have experienced that same not a fight with anyone over Ameraucana verses EE.
Some people love EE and that is fine. Nothing wrong with that.

There are plenty of both types of Chicken to go around to everyone.
FACT: She raises purebred Ameraucana Chickens not EE.

No, I didn't realize that...point taken.

I am not a child and I know a lot of things. I am a successful breeder with several different breeds. I have been to lots of APA and ABA sanctioned shows, I have an APA standard book, I am personal friends with several judges and top breeders of Ameraucanas. I do not appreciate your comments about my age.

I don't know a ton about Ameraucaunas or EE's, but if the Ameraucauna laid a tan egg, wouldn't that make her an EE? Don't purebred Ameraucaunas only lay blue/green eggs?

Yes, He told us afterward that he had a problem with it back in 2005. It's nothing to be that concerned about, we will simply exclude her from our breeding program.

Yes, he is. Unfortunately, the hen that lays the pink eggs was his daughter. We won't be breeding him anymore because we now know that he carries a recessive pink egg gene. We will be taking him to shows for a couple years to come before he is retired. But, we do have birds from other breeders, so we will be getting many blue eggs, once they begin laying.
