My quail are dying

Yes, quail chicks that I have hatched are always removed from the bator no later than 24 hours after hatching, and they usually act like they are starved to death when I do move them. I too find it surprising that hatcheries would bother shipping day-old quail, but there are many that do. I think they should at the least be shipped express....

For my babies I hatch I add a vitamin supplement to the water. Im at work so I cant think of the name of it right now. I think they are just too stressed from the transport. Temp seems off to me too but depends on how well the brooder holds heat and if it is drafty at all. You are looking at what I think is the number one thing on the temp as letting the birds tell you by either getting away from the light or bunching up if they are cold. Im sorry for your loss too. I have had a bad week myself but I think its my own fault for trying to brood quail and pheasant chicks together.
