Many of you helped me through loosing over the 50% of my chicks last week and I want to Thank you all! I called the hatchery on Monday and they sent out replacements on Tuesday, because that much of a loss is not normal.
Well, we knew the shipment would be here today, so we did things differently to help make these cuties through the first crutial few days.
My hubby and I both work, last time we had the chicks delivered to my store(which is a cosmetic store) but we didn't have a makeshift brooder set up here at my store! So today, I have the makeshift brooder set up for my little ones. We took a heating mat that is used for starting plants, wont burn anyone or anything, and wrapped it inside the walls of a cooler. I brought water with sugar and food and they are doing soo much better than last time. I did open the box to find one, thankfully who didn't make it...it got super cold and the weather was terrible this week for those chickies
