Hello,
I just recently rescued a young adult Bielefelder (8 months old) from my friends farm. He had 15 chickens that died. He kept buying chickens from the different breeders and all the flocks are all mixed up. So two of his three Bielefelders died from the disease. He was left with Just one. He gave all his flocks the corid powder mix in their drinking water. It seemed to solve the issue. So I took the Bielefelder to add to my two current ones. The difference are night and day. Mine look very healthy compared to the one I just rescued. I noticed that she kept sneezing but I didn't hear any wheezing sound from her beak. so I mixed the chord with the drinking water and she's been eating and drinking healthy. I kept her quarantine for a little over 2 weeks now. The sneezing seems to go away but it's still there. I bought vet RX and put some of that on her nostrils, under her wings, on her feet, and around her neck and buttocks. Just did this today. The corid stuff was and still on it for 2 weeks.
My friend told me that the chicken was not sneezing at his farm so it could be something that's inside my garage but I still don't feel comfortable introducing her to my two current hens. What I noticed about her comb is very pale. It's not bright red at all. Please advise on what I should do. She's been quarantined for over two weeks now. As I mentioned before, she's been eating and drinking healthy and her feces look healthy. Thank you and sorry for the long post.
