I am new to backyard chickens so I am hoping to get a bit of advice on my Rhode Island Red Hen. I took her from a woman who was getting rid of her because she did not lay eggs but it did not matter to me she was very cute and I wanted her anyway.. I have had her for about 6 months now. She has a nice comfy home and is fed proper. She has one buddy that accompanies her. Is there any tips out there that I may be missing to try to get her to start laying?

Try fermented feed. My oldie but goodie hens started laying again when I started FF a year ago.
Also looks like she is free ranging. Do you think she is hiding her eggs? I would look for dark safe places you may end up finding a whole 6 months worth of eggs.

Thanks I will try that. She does have a coop now because we found our other chicken was doing just that and laying them under our deck, we had no idea until we found a nice surprise stack of 12 eggs! Now I just let them out of the coop a few hours a day to peck around and find some bugs but will def keep a watchful eye in case. She listens so well when I call her into the coop shes like a little puppy.
