my RIR chicks are spotted

my 22 day old RIR chicks are starting to feather out ,some are black and red,some are rusty looking with white spots,several are colored like my gold comet pullets,,do they turn darker when they get older or did I buy something besides the RIRs?,one out of 12 actually looks like a RIR,I bought them at TSC and the sales person said they were RIRs,and it was printed on the bin

They're probably production reds...what hatcheries sell as RIRs. Nothing wrong with them and they'll be good layers, but they more than likely won't be the deep red color that breeder RIRs are.

you probably purchased Production Strain RIR's.

orange red with brown and black markings.

I got a Red star sex link from TSC's assorted red/straight run RIR bin. She has a lot of white and she's more of a tan color.
The others are much darker though, more like real RIRs.
It's a toss up when you get chicks from TSC.
