my RIR is clucking, is this a sign of broodiness??

I have 5 1 year old RIR and 5 RIR pullets. I have them separated until my little girls are off of Starter-Grower. I noticed over the past week or 2 that my "alpha" hen is clucking like a mother hen. I have no Rooster... don't want one. So, I know she can't be ready to set. What would be causing this behavior? Anyone?

She'll set without a rooster, but obviously she won't hatch anything.

My RIR hens are always the loudest of the bunch. One of them is named screech for a reason

My leghorn momma hen of 9 chicks made/makes when she was sitting and still does now with the chicks a gutteral sounding cluck. like no other of my hens make.
