My RIR kicked my SS freshly laid egg out of nest!

And I stepped on it! The egg white and yolk went flying across the coop and splattered everywhere making a mess like a torpedo.

I guess the RIR was waiting impatiently for that nest box. Usually the RIR will take the other nest box if her favorite one is in use. I'm bummed I don't have her egg today. It was suppose to be the RIR's day off for laying.

She didn't even give me a chance to remove the egg before booting it out. Next time I will watch where I step.

It's that unmistakeable *crunch* sound. I only did it once, now I look down when I walk in the chicken coop.

Just wait until you get a pocket scramble. If you put eggs in your pocket in winter, you will become a member of this club also.

I'll try to remember not to put them in any pockets. Today was the very first day of getting 3 eggs from the 3 laying pullets!
