My females are scared to death of my Roan. It never used to be that way all was fine but this year the Roan has them plucked almost bare on the back of the neck and they run off screaming every time he's near. Does anyone know how I can temper his appetite for love? Right now I'm caging him every other day so the girls get a turn at the creek.

Maybe there just aren't enough females? If it's anything like chickens, the less females you have for the male to get frisky with, the more they bother the ones you do have. I know for roosters they recommend something like 5 to 7 hens per rooster. So maybe it's just the number of available females that's the issue?

Thanks Lizz
That very well could be, he went after a wild female Mallard this afternoon.
