My rooster can’t crow

Ok, so I have this 8 month old rooster, father is my Buff Orpington in the picture, and mother unknown; could be anyone of my ladies but Rooster Jr looks a lot like his dad. They even hang out together, like nap togehter midday. He started crowing 12 weeks ago, you know when they sound like they have the hickups? And he still sounds the same! He’s super heathly and loving the girls, but his crow is just extremly ”under developed” or what you should call it? I am NOT complaining, but just wanted to see if any of you here have the same ”issue”?

Sure! Every rooster has their own unique crow. Some more than others.

It is, in fact, not unusual for a rooster's crow to take months to sound right.

You don't have to worry about it.
Just wait patiently for your boy to train, correct his voice by himself.

If he is so healthy otherwise, he's just having a long stint of rooberty, his crow may change or he may just be unique.

Cherish his voice it as long as it lasts.
If he still has no mature voice at 1.5 yo you can sell him for a lot of money to someone with hens who lives in a town.

I asked once if it would be possible to ‘create’ or breed rooster with a soft voice. Bc lots of people cant have roosters who are loud. Nobody who could make this work, is interested.
City dwellers were but for them its impossible to start such a project.

Exactly this. My previous roo had a grow that was so loud, I'm surprised people in Buenos Aires didn't lodge a noise complaint, which always ended with a sound you would expect to hear if someone fell down the staircase while playing the bagpipes.

My new roo, Galoot, sounds right but is really quiet. Like he is discretely inquiring if anyone is out there.
