My rooster died...

My rooster was crowing as usual in the coop this morning. My hubby opened the coop at 8 am as usual. Big John jumped out(as usual), took 3 steps and crowed (as usual) then dropped over dead - NOT USUAL! I heard my hubby ask, "You ok, Big John?" I looked out of the barn and saw John laying feet in the air and heard my hubby say, "oh my, I think Big John just died!". I tried CPR but he was dead.

I am so sorry for your loss. My rooster, Foghorn, died this winter out of nowhere, so I know how it feels.
