My Rooster Does Interpretive Dance

I think I have a roo who really DOES do a dance (other than the sideways shuffle of chatting up the girls).

Gordon, my big NNX Blue Partridge Brahma moves his head and neck around in a very odd manner if you call him or move your head from side to side. I'll try to get a video of him.......hilarious.

My Chick, Harmony, used to do that. She would do it until I picked her up into my lap. I named it the 'Mama sick dance'. Is it a way of asking for attention when it comes from a Pullet, or is it the same concept? Well, I had to give her a new home since she started to crow non-stop

PS. I will love you Harmony forever and always!

My boys do the "wing dance"! They strut up, drop a wing and dance in circles! I think they all learned it from Blue Roo lol! I think he drops the wing in case he falls over,, he can catch himself!

It's really funny to watch, since they take themselves so seriously when they do it. Reminds me slightly of the prairie chickens' mating dance.

if your chicken was doing the dance and crowing it was probably a cockerel not a pullet

We call it "The Wing Dance."

My DH has a wonderful sense of humor, and one day he came home and was feeling silly and wanted some "alone time," so he came up to me and did The Wing Dance. It was HILARIOUS! I about fell out laughin'.

Yeah, I kind of guessed it now. Everyone's been saying it, so I guess I'll admit it. Probably a Cockerel.
