So we got a no crow collar for our 2 silkie roosters. I come home today and find that one has it stuck between his beak. He was coughing up bile and so we immediately took it off and cleaned him as best we could but he’s still worse for wear. He can’t close his beak as of now but can speak (not too well though). I think it might’ve sliced his beak a bit, and I’m afraid he could die. Here’s a picture for reference. Thank you so much if you respond.

He appears to be stressed from his ordeal. Hopefully his beak has not been injured/strained to the point that he can not eat or drink. Time will tell the nature of his injury. Good luck.

Update: We’ve syringe fed him water and he is now able to close his mouth and eat on his own! He doesn’t close it all the time but he is able to. I think he will be ok

Glad he seems on the mend now.

These 'no crow collars' are dangerous, and sadly, there have been already quite a lot of fatalities because people still use them.
