Sorry to hear about Jagermeister !! You must get Jagermeister the 2nd !! I too have a similar issue with Erel a light Sussex. Not only has he stopped crowing he's also got a rattling noise in his chest. Even worst his girlfriend hot pot has also began to rattle plus stopped laying.

I have a question for you what is Duramycin 10 ? and was it expensive ?

I realize this is an old thread, but whenever a rooster or chicken loses it's voice or has silent gasping, aspergillosis should always be considered as the cause. I have no idea if that is what killed the rooster in this thread, but it is a possibility. Here is more info:
