my rooster has stopped crowing?

my rooster is middle aged I guess you would say and he stopped crowing. Has anyone had this happen? he seems ok and eats ok. Should I worry ? what could have caused this?

Do you have any other roosters? Another roo could have become more dominant? When our Roos started crowing mainly one would crow.

What is middle aged?
Do you have photos of him?
Any changes within the flock (losses, additions), to your feed or housing?

It won't hurt to give him a good going over - look for lice/mites, make sure his crop is empty in the morning, look at his poop (is it "normal"). Does your rooster have frostbite or anything like that?

Mine quit crowing but it was an upper respitory. He ate ok, but he had a raspy noise when he breathed and just wasnt acting right. Got him looked at by a vet and gave him a couple shots and now hes fine. Hope your rooster is ok.

no I have no other roosters and he has about 17 hens all to his self
