I have a cowardly roo who is the first to run if a mongoose stalks him and his hens.
Does anyone have suggestions on which of the following breeds might produce a rooster that is gutsy enough to defend his flock, yet minimally aggressive with humans and other roosters?
Sumatra
Hmong
Modern Game standard size
Black Shamo
Other ideas? I'm avoiding very "fluffy" breeds and breeds common in commercial production, and avoiding bantams, which I suspect would be a mongoose feast even when full grown.
