Mine does exactly this! He prefers feathers from a particular pullet, but he'll do it with whatever feather he picks up. I think he has matured earlier than the pullets (they are 17.5 weeks) so maybe they're just not ready for him yet. Or it could be that he's kind of at the bottom of the pecking order, even as a rooster.So my rooster, who is about a year old now, has started doing this thing where he picks up a feather lying around and he then humps the ground with it in his mouth. He is going away soon anywaysunfortunately but I'm just curious if something is wrong or if this is normal.
