My Turken is the only rooster we have, the other 10 chickens are hens. I've noticed lately that he chases some of them around and pecks at them. Is this just normal rooster behavior or does he need to find another home? I'm not looking to hatch any chicks of my own, I only want eggs for eating, so I don't feel the need to have a roo around, especially if he's nasty to the girls.

Yup thats exactly what he's doing. Grabbing the feathers on the back of their necks. He's not fully crowing, but he does make a lot of noise.
Guess he's just looking for a good time! LOL

lol exactly. My boy is 15 weeks, he's started crowing and he is BIG! But he hasn't tried breeding yet. He tried to peck one hen and she chased him down and beat him up. He went RUNNING lol

Actually he is a BSL. When the guy sold him to me I said "Ummmm a dot on the head means its a roo, I don't want a roo" He said "The dot doesn't always mean it's a roo".... Hmmmm Sure enough, I have a roo! lol

He is quite a handsome boy so we welcome him in the family.
