My rooster is terrorizing the flock

It can if you have an over eager boy with bad technique and tender feelings. Sometimes when the boys are turned down they get very mean and loving quickly turns quite violent. Not a good quality in any sort of boy silkie or otherwise.:)
It seemed like a combination maybe if fighting and mating. Can mating end in blood though?

I have 8 silkies.

We had to get of a rooster that was terrorizing my girls. We had one girl that would hide in the coop and when she'd come out, she would hide with her face in the corner of the run. She is much smaller than the others because he wouldn't let her eat. Another girl he drew blood on her face. He would attack us too (they were all about 4 months old). We had two roosters and the other rooster is nice enough, but the one guy was a total butt head. We put an ad on Craigslist and got a couple responses. It was also suggested that we check with local 4H clubs, but I couldn't stand the idea of some 4H kid getting injured by my jerk chicken.

My poor girl that he was starving is soooooooooooooo much happier. All of them are.

i had 2 roosters, 7 months old they were pretty much terrorizing my flock. the 2 of them would chase down 1 hen and both would jump her, alot of feathers were flying. i have 17 hens so its not like there wasnt enough girls for the 2 of them luckily someone i know was looking for a rooster. not something that happens everyday. otherwise one was definitely going to freezer camp. its been a week and everything is way calmer. the roo seems more a part of the flock then trying to be the one dominating it. the 1 i gave away is doing good also

2 for sure at the moment. I have a couple others I'm suspecting but not sure yet.
I’m new to owning chickens, but from what I have learned, 8-10 hens per 1 rooster is a good ratio. Once you have a competition, things can get ugly. It’s an unfortunate part of raising chickens, having to make that hard decision to get rid of the extra roosters. I love all my chickens, but it’s not fair to my hens to be attacked all day :(

Update...he spent the night peacefully in the coop with the other chickens but this morning when I let them all out he started causing trouble again. So I put him in a cage until I figure out what to do. I don't thnk I can get rid of him because he's beautiful.

If you can't get rid of him, then you will need to build him a place of his own with run included. Since he'll be lonely you'll have to spend plenty of time with him.

Around here I don't put up with bullies, roosters or hens. I don't try to rehome because of a very good possibility they wouldn't be taken care of properly. Since we never eat store bought meat we butcher them.
