My rooster just attacked me!! What to do?

You have to take the rooster out of the control position in the situation, kicking him will only give him and you a split second of contact, as soon as he lands he is in control again, and may just escalate his attack.

If you pick him up he is immeadiately out of the control position, and you are in control, then he must submit to you as the dominant animal.

my black polish rooster used to do the same, chase my grandson, and everyone else that came by, and me, I just started picking him up and carrying him around for about 20 minutes while I did my chores, I read that somewhere on this forum.
I also, in the summer time used the hose on him, he doesn't like getting wet!
I didn't hold him upside down because of reading about that on this forum also.
I just kept picking him up and holding him mostly. don't turn your back on him, I still don't leave my grandson out with him though, cause I think roosters that have had this problem may be ok with adults, or me, I guess, but I don't trust him all the way yet.

I have 14 roosters who free range with my 60 other hens and chicks. So far they don't fight one another or attack me or anyone else. We have a very clear understanding that because I have so many roos, even two and three of each breed, I'm looking for "volunteers" on who goes first...."just give me a reason".

Any roo who would attack my 2 year old would be considered my first volunteer.

If one of my roos so much as came near my 3 year old grandchild, or anyone else, in an aggressive manner it would never get the chance to do it again. I too am head roo around here and am constantly chasing them out of coop, off a hen, out of pens, etc. without a problem but just because they respect me as leader doesn't mean they can be trusted around anyone else, especially children.

You said yourself you can't trust the rooster, it attacks the 2 year old and you fear it could attack the 6 year old. If it did, it could cause severe damage/harm to her. Why take a chance? Invite the roo to a barbeque as guest of honor.

I'm going to take this advice everyone gave me and hopefully he won't attack me again. He still doesn't have contact with my son or daughter. I just don't think I could eat him....

That would like eating a pet...unless he gets really bad then I may change my perspective on the whole situation!

These include running after said rooster waving my arms and screaming colorful phrases, as well as kicking in the general direction of the rooster while chasing until my foot makes contact.
