My rooster just disappeared : (

About 3 months ago a rooster just showed up in my yard. Long story short I bought a coop and now have 3 bantams in my coop ( 2 hens 1 rooster) I do not let them free range. The rooster that just showed up and free ranged was getting friendly, He would just walk around my coop all day watching the hens inside. I could almost have him feed out of my hand. Today he has disappeared : ( There is no trace of him...he was fine last night up in his tree. I am so sad I loved him very much. Its not the same without my "Wilbur"...

He may have moved on or he may have been taken by a predator. Hopefully it is the first possibility, and that he will eventually return.

My neighbor's chicken (hen) went on walkabout for three days this spring and then returned. We figured she must have been taken by a hawk, but she must have bopped back through the fence; she was just back in the coop one morning. Probably not the most likely scenario, but not quite yet time to give up hope. Good luck!
